Symptoms
After installation Write:OutLoud To Go may not appear in the list of applications on the Dana. If it does appear, starting the program may result in a Fatal Alert or error.

Cause
Going into the "Install Tool" window and manually adding files may result in some files not properly HotSyncing to the computer. Write:OutLoud To Go is designed to HotSync right after installation without adding files to the Install Tool window. The files are placed in the Users "Backup" folder and not the install folder due to the size and amount of files required for installation.

Another possible cause is that you installed Write:OutLoud To Go to a user that had previously been Hotsynced to the Dana without changing the "System" setting. This is found in Palm Desktop on the HotSync menu under "Custom...". For detailed installation steps and instructions please refer to the Write:OutLoud To Go Getting Started PDF.

Resolution
When this happens you will need to do a hard reset on the Dana and re-install Write:OutLoud To Go.

1. Restore the Dana to factory defaults. This is done by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button while pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the Dana with the stylus provided. Release the stylus from the reset button then when the Palm logo appears on the screen release the ON/OFF button. You will be prompted to erase all data.
2. Back on the computer, create a new user in Palm Desktop. You can do this by selecting Tools --> Users... from the menu then click the "New" button.
3. Install WriteOut Loud To Go from the CD. Select "Install a new instance" and make sure to select the newly created user when prompted.
4. Attach Dana by USB and HotSync from the Dana. You will be prompted on your computer for the user you would like to sync to the Dana. Select the user you just installed Write:OutLoud To Go to. When it is finished the Dana will prompt you to reset it.
